Great battery for the price

I had bought one of these batteries to power 2 security cameras which are on 24hrs and my automatic gate. Initially the battery worked quite well, but after an overcast day my battery died. I have 200 watts of Harbor Freight solar panels and a 20 amp Renogy charge controller. I decided to buy another battery and hook it up in parallel. I couldn't have made a better decision. Now my bank will last 2 to 3 days in overcast weather. The other day temperature dropped well below freezing, but my battery's BMS apparently took care of all that because they still were able to charge and that only took a couple of hours.

Lightweight

Nice size for a 20Ah battery. Appears well made, 6mm bolts for the terminal. So far no complaints. I have the proper charger for the LiFePO battery but havent had it long enough to see how long it will last

Great battery for portable ham radio ops!

Exactly as in my title, I use this battery for portable ham radio ops. For the size and weight, this thing is just absolutely incredible. I feel sorry for the past generations of radio guys lugging around big hunks of lead to barely get any useful power. I looked up a random lead acid battery that would be equal to this one and it weighs three times as much. And anyone who knows about batteries knows that you will only get about 50% of the rated capacity of a lead acid battery where with a LiFePo4, you'll get much closer to the 90% mark. And the lead acid wasn't even that much cheaper!

Complete no brainer if your use case is similar to mine. For the record, I am running between 5W and 10W of transmitting power (IC-705 for the ham radio people out there), a Raspberry Pi 4 with rig control (stepped down from 12.8V to 5.3VDC with an external converter), a charging setup for an iPad that I use to communicate with the Pi, and a phone charger. Perfect amount of capacity, lightweight, very attractive price point, etc. The built in BMS is just icing on the cake.

Great for small solar projects

The Golden mate LiFePo4 20ah is exactly what I needed for my small 3 fan setup thats in the attic and charged by solar panels.
This was actually my first project I actually setup and got running before all the other solar stuff ive done.
It has a great life n its not even close to 90% of its life so super happy about that and I charge it everyday in the hot Az sun.
Its about 256watt hours but I lose some efficiency during the transfer to my small inverter. The panels I did were linked of several smaller ones, about a few 25w n 50w panels into a little setup to charge this battery very quickly. Almost to quick n thought about getting another to put in a series but I decided to just go big next time n get a 100ah or more right off the bat.
Besides that ive never had problems, it always charges and keeps it charge. Its recommended to charge at 4amp but ive been way over that, closer to 10amp n still no problems i feel very luck with this model LFP1220, 12.8v 20ah.
I would recommend!

Seems great so far

I work regularly with an FRC robotics team and this is the same form factor as the lead acid batteries we use in competition, but much much lighter than the lead acid variant! We can't use them in actual competition due to rules but for promotional purposes bringing our robot around the school and other non-competition events this seems to work really well for us, it saves us some weight making the chore of moving a large robot just a bit easier and it seems to work fine for the loads we put on it (we are careful not to pull too much amperage from it inasmuch as possible). Remember to get a proper charger for it as its different than a lead acid battery charger!

Excellent for marine use.

I got this to replace my Lead Acid Battery that I use for fishing in my kayak. It was also a 20Ah battery like this one but easily weighs twice to three times as much as the new battery. After a full day of using my depth/fish finder, listening to music, and charging my phone (if it need it) my Lead Acid Battery would drop and average of 10-15% off of it's full charge. So after two days like that, definitely need to recharge that battery because after it drops to 50% you run the risk of damaging Lead Acid batteries and 3 days may get it to 55%. For example: This Lithium battery showed up with 60% charge on it when I got it. If this was a Lead Acid battery, I would've sent it back as damaged. This battery charged right up to a 100% and held it no issues.
This Lithium battery just shrugs it off usage like it's nothing. A full day might only hit 5 - 10% of this battery plus even if it were to drop below that 50% thresh hold, Lithium batteries tend on only take damage if completely dropped to 5% or less (if at all sometimes).
Lithium batteries tend to be a bit pricier than their Lead Acid rivals but you are almost quite literally getting twice the battery usage each time with way more recharge cycles. So one can just pony up the cash now for that reliability or pay for it three times over with dead/ weak old used Lead Acid batteries when they won't hold a charge any more. Always a game of pay now or pay later.
But as for this battery, 5 stars all day long.

Lightweight battery to power my trolling motor

I picked this up to power a small trolling motor on my kayak. So far I've been pretty happy with it, especially considering it's at least 1/4 the weight of the lead acid battery I replaced with it. I house it in a breathable container that keeps the water away and it has provided ample power to my motor while trolling for fish.

It's pricey but no more than comparable products I have researched.

No complaints yet.

An Inexpensive Way To Pack 256Wh of Power

This battery is well constructed, and charges well from both AC chargers and solar charge controllers.

The battery works well with an inverter to power AC appliances as limited by the battery's 20A output current limit and the inverters limit.

I gave it a quick first charge to 13.6V (not quite a full charge. To test this battery, I powered my 55 inch TCH television with the GoldenMate 12V, 20Ah battery through a 500 PSW inverter until the battery shut itself down, using a watt-meter to measure consumption. The TV consumed 170Wh in 84 minutes before shutdown. If I had started with a full 256Wh battery (I don't think that I did), and if the inverter consumed the standard 15% of the power (which I don't know), then the battery should have given me 217Ah. I will take credit for the underperformance for not ensuring that the battery was fully charged. The average current demand was only about one and a half amps. This performance is fairly consistent with what I have seen in my other similar batteries using the same test conditions.

The battery appears well made on the exterior. It has fair documentation. I have no way to predict the durability of this battery over time. It has a recommended charging rate of 4 amps and a maximum charge rate capability of 20 amps. It has a maximum discharge rate limit of 20 amps.

Because LiFePO4 battery prices are rapidly falling, check the value of this 20Ah battery against current 50Ah and 100Ah (assuming a larger physical size is appropriate) batteries available in order to get the most kWh bang for your buck. If the pricing works for you, the GoldenMate 12V 20Ah battery is a contender.

If you already own a wall charger, solar charge controller and inverter, consider this 256Wh battery at about $70 against a 256Wh portable power station currently averaging $200 to $250. The PPS is a tidy package with the wall charger, solar charge controller and inverter all combined. That is hard to beat. But going the component route, especially if you already have most of the components, is a compelling alternative.

Always something to do
Great

This battery is being used to power a fish finder, fog-lights, for charging my phone, and other electronics on my little boat.

It works great for me! I had all the power that I needed to be out until the wee hours of the morning.

I really appreciate that it has a BMS system! Safety with lithium batteries is very important to me.

It is slightly heavier than my other 20ah LiFePO4 batteries. I dont know if thats good or bad, but my guess is that is a good thing. Im just happy that I dont have to lug around a lead acid battery anymore!

Great!

Safer, Longer Life, LESS WEIGHT!

These batteries offer a significant weight reduction of about 7.1lbs less than the standard lead acids (Pb) batteries that we are using. When a few of these are used in series that 7.1lbs adds up quickly. This is a great feature of the batteries. The run time and current seem on par with the lead acid equivalent. Would recommend these after use of several weeks, hopefully they continue to perform for a few years or longer.

For back-up power

I love to have this on-hand for a hedge against the inevitable power outages that occur periodically. I love that it both has a decent amount of capacity in and of itself, and easily work in parallel with others to extend its applicable power over time.

Works good so far

This is a light weight and solidly encased battery. It comes about 80% charged, and quickly charges to full capacity with my LiFePO4 smart charger at 2 amps. The voltage caps at around 13.4V when full and it maintains around a 13V charge for most of the cycle, cutting off around 10V I believe. It drops quite fast from around 12.5V down to 10V near the last few percentages of the battery capacity. I'm not sure if this is a problem with this battery, but some of my LiFePO4 batteries have the BMS cut off the power when it's drained such that the smart charger can't read it and start charging. The trick to getting them to work is to briefly touch a 12V battery in parallel to it to jumpstart it. While I can't comment on the lifespan of the battery, i'm a bit apprehensive on why they state the cycle life is between 2000 and 7000 cycles, because that's a massive range difference.

Great for solar and Ham radio projects

This battery uses the typical form factor for this capacity battery. Its much lighter than a sealed lead acid battery of the same capacity.

It has two screw terminals on top. I connected it to a power supply and verified the BMS was regulating the charge. The battery was also used to power a load with no issues.

As other reviews have stated not quite a full 20AH, but it works as expected.

I picked up this battery then purchased a second one to run them in parallel. I am using this in a small solar generator unit. Both tested the same, so they are very consistent. This is good. For the price, these batteries are a reasonable deal. It would be great if they included low temp protection (even at a slightly higher cost it would be a good value). I did not test low-temp charging, but its not listed and I didn't want to ruin the battery. The 10A charge rate is accurate. I do wish it had a 15 or 20A charge rate but 10 is understandable for the size.

Emergency Power When Needed.

This battery works well for when the power goes out and you need power for backup lighting, phone charging, radios, etc. Being small and light in weight, it also works well for camping trips.

This battery arrived fully charged. I keep this charged via a solar panel setup. One thing to keep in mind is that you need a charger that can handle this type of battery. The old wet cell chargers are not compatible with this and can shorten the battery life.

The main reason I like these batteries is that for the size, I can run this lithium battery longer than the flooded cell type without worry of damaging the battery.

Power

I have converted all my emergency power builds to lithium iron phosphate chemistry because of its safety. I no longer worry about the house burning down due to the lithium ternary batteries I used to have.

This unit has a lot of available power and built-in BMS. Its weight is a little over 5 pounds which compares to a much heavier lead acid battery equivalent.

It charges right up with my LiPo charger. I am placing this in a backup power unit I am building for a friend's oxygen concentrator that loses charge too quickly.

Pricing is very good at $70 for 20Ah battery.

A great little battery

This 20ah has been an ideal battery (up from 12ah) for portable water pumping operations on the property for the garden, water transfer, etc. It will easily power a 12v 7amp 7.5 gpm diaphragm pump, pumping 600 gallons of water continuously with power to spare. I exhausted it completely with an inverter to power a mini PC to see what it would endure, replacing 268 amp hours for its 256 ah rated spec (a one time test!) The screw/10mm post terminals are secure and convenient.

What to watch with an LiFePo4 is cold charging and I keep max discharge to 10% remaining and like to recharge at 20%. They do not like and the BMS will prevent, charging below 32F.

Another convenient power source for a portable freezer operating @ 3.4 amps for about 10 hours at a 50% duty cycle. Typical recharge rate of 4 amps with a max of 10 amps. I will use 4 amps when I have time, and 7 to 8 amps when I need a faster charge. If you take 20% of a typical 100ah battery (20ah) costing $345, the price for this one seems reasonable.
