My new battery backup is fantastic so far. It has a sleek appearance and I love that it has a button you can press to get battery charge and usage data. Also the data connection cable that communicates with my computer to ensure proper shutdown in the event of a long term power outage while I’m away is a great feature. Highly recommend these battery backups!

I had two old lead acid battery UPS's go out all at once. I'd been wanting to try a LiPo battery UPS, but the in the past they were cost prohibitive. But, as it turned out there was a deal on the GoldenMates, so I bought two for a good price.Before buying, I did check out reviews on Youtube and elsewhere and all I found for the 1000VA/800W GoldenMate were positive. The version of the Goldenmate most commonly reviewed was a slightly earlier version, but the specs were the same. The only apparent difference was the rear panel outlets. The earlier version had four angled outlets where the one available now has eight outlets in two rows of four.In terms of performance, I'm impressed. I'm backing up my router and modem, which are a combined 23-25 watts under normal load. The GoldenMate lasted over 9 hours before shutting down, so the 230Wh rating seems about right. I also liked how easy it was to silence the alarm tone (just press the power button for about a second). So, no complaints on the longevity side. This is a good basic UPS.I don't have a meter, but per the reviews I've seen, this is a pure sine wave UPS, so power quality should be good; better than many UPS in this price/capacity range.There are three negatives, all minor. But that's why I've deducted one star.1. The tightly grouped eight outlets mean that if you're plugging in the typical power transformer block, you won't likely get more then 3 or 4 devices connected.2. There are no "surge only" outlets. With all of the other UPS's I've owned, there were a combination of "UPS backed up" and "surge only" outlets. For example, if I wanted to plug in a laptop charger along with my network devices, I'd plug the laptop charger in a surge only outlet. It would be protected from minor surges, but not powered by the UPS if power fails. With the GoldenMate, there is no option to do this. Of the three negatives, this is the one that most bugs me.3. This is a "dumb" UPS. There is no possibility to connect it to a computer for a soft shutdown. For my uses, this is not a problem as I'm only powering network communication devices. But, if you need a UPS that will shutdown your computer as the battery reaches the end of it's ability to power your PC, this isn't it.Other notes:--Depending on how much power you are drawing, a cooling fan will come on under battery. The fan isn't terrily loud, but you will hear it. For my scenario above only pulling 25 watts, the fan did not come on during the time I observed it. If the fan did power on, it would obviously take battery power away from your devices.--Charging is very slow. This isn't really a negative. Typically, you don't need a UPS to charge quickly and it should be gentler on the battery life with a slower charge. The UPS arrived at about 3/4 charge. It took several hours to fully charge. As long as you don't have frequent power failures, I don't think will an issue.--The power inverter apparently has about 1-2% overhead of the power being consumed (per the power display). For example (see pic), my router and modem were drawing 22watts but the UPS was drawing 23watts.--It is both smaller and lighter than lead acid UPS's of the same capacities. But, it is not exactly light or small. Again, not a negative, but I was surprised the UPS was a large as it is.All in all, I'm happy with the GoldenMate so far. I'll update if there are any changes to my ratings.

Arrived quickly and worked very well. Already seen the unit work in anger (I live in Memphis so power goes out quite a lot) and it worked without issues. Quiet and tidy lookiing with good socket spacing. Excellent value for money and a quality piece of kit.

Easy to setup and use. Great unfo on display. Love not having to worry about the battery for 8 to 10 years

Battery works great. With the recent storms and my power disconnecting briefly it managed to keep my pc and modem going for awhile. I would prefer if there were additional ports for non-battery plugins

I had it running for three days. Then a brown out occured and GoldenMate sent me a notification indicating that it was on battery power and then proceeded to continue to normal power afterwards. Perfect! Exactly what I needed. And just in time!

So far so good, my power went out the other day and this powered my router and StarLink for a few hours

If you're like me, after purchasing a UPS you don't think about replacing it until it's really needed. I have a few in the house that were several years old. After one or two started to have issues, it was time to start looking. I wasn't aware of the Goldenmate brand, but the reviews were very positive. I've purchased a few now and they have worked very well. Plus they are much lighter due to the lithium batteries. In the few times they were needed, these UPS's did a great job keep computers and devices up and running.

This has worked great though a number of power 'bounces' of a few seconds and replaces a lead-acid system now doing less strenuous work with a bunch of PI's. The simple display is sufficient. It hangs out in the basement while the computers it protects are on the second floor. Power here is pretty stable even during storms and high winds but there are still momentary outages.Like others I would have liked to be able to replace the battery easily remove a screw or two instead of having to physically crack the case.

I have not experienced a power outage to test the function yet, but this product continuously makes an electrical current noise when plugged in. Not sure if it is expected for all the same product, but it feels a bit annoying.

Arrived in excellent condition. Installation was quick and easy. All lights and numbers lit and showed UPS operating normally. "Manual" is actually a small pamphlet with 4 pages (folded, printed both sides) And small print. Arrived partially charged: 70%.No power outages yet, so not tested in real time. Bought it for my modem.

So far, it's doing everything I expected. I do like the read out regarding incoming power and outgoing power, so you see exactly what your components are drawing during their use. As I've owned this unit for only a week, I really can't speak about actual performance during an outage or over a long period of time. It there's no reason to change this initial review, I will not comment further. If you are reading this a year or more after this review, you know I have had no reason to change this rating. If anything changes, I will pull this back up and comment. 5 stars for now.

After several months of utilizing the uninterruptible power supply (UPS), I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. This particular UPS represents one of the most advantageous investments I have made in pure sine wave technology, and I highly recommend it.

The UPS was packaged well and arrived in good condition. I put it into service the day I received it and followed the instructions for start-up (yes there is a start-up procedure and must be followed if you want it to work correctly). I have most of my computers and related equipment (router, monitors, printers, power supplies) plugged into it with the less essential devices plugged into power strips so they can be easily shut down during an extended power outage without messing with plugs. I ran one test with a printer... sending a print, disconnecting and reconnecting the power to the UPS during the print. There was absolutely [no] transfer blink so it must run on battery all the time as described, no actual transfer.I am satisfied so far and will run more tests over time. The only shortcoming is it does not have some outlets with surge protection only, but there was no claim that it did, so I knew what I was buying.

I bought three of these and have been using them for just shy of a year. So far, so good!Two of them are the 600W models and one is the 800W. The two 600 watt units are keeping my workstation, router, ONT, switches, wireless, and other gear up and running. Each is only powering about 120-150 watts worth of equipment, so I have seen close to an hour of backup time during outages. Since most outages here are fairly brief, this has kept my uptime and productivity to a maximum.I only bought the 800W one because it was on sale and I figured I could use it for *something*. Ended up using it for my refrigerator lol. While my power doesn't go out often, it does flash somewhat frequently and sometimes quite violently (think the scene from Poltergeist). A control board in my fridge had already fried once so I figured adding a UPS as protection wouldn't hurt. So far, so good. During the last outage, it ran my full size fridge for about 40 minutes (would have run it longer, but the defrost cycle kicked in which is 400W versus the usual ~100 watt when it's cooling).I've got a LiFePO4 ebike battery that's about 12 years old and going strong, so I know the battery chemistry used in these is made for the long haul. So I can only hope the electronics in these UPSs are built to last as well.The only thing I can find to complain about with these is that there's no serial port to be able to monitor them from a PC which means there's no way to detect a power outage and have the equipment shut down automatically. For a home office or entertainment center, that's not too big a deal but if you're planning to use these for servers, you might want to look at a different model so you can safely shutdown your equipment.

Great UPS. Retains its charge for a long time. I have been using it not as a UPS, but as a power bank to power my telescope's motorized equatorial mount plus a heat band for the telescope and a camera. I have used it several times for 2 to 4 hours and did not needed to recharge this unit. I did recharge for about 10 hours after I was done. It's been sitting in a box for about 3 months and it has hardly lost the charge.

I purchased the 800 watt battery to provide back up power to my garage openers. Works great. The price is very good, reasonably light weight, and lithium batteries. The negatives with this product: The case is very light soft plastic and gives that plastic smell. The power cord is only 3 ft. And the plug is a poor fit to the device. The watt meter display on mine does not seem very accurate, about 10 to 30 watts higher then my watt meter which I know is accurate.

All major brands like APC, Cyberpower, etc. have Lithium based UPS devices, but are price gated at a min of 800 USD, commonly 1500 USD or more, marketed for the enterprise sector only. Finally a company that brings the longevity of lithium to the consumer UPS based market at an extremely affordable price!With my current Cyberpower 1500VA/900W model, with an avg of 100w draw, i can get about 45 more mins of runtime before loses power completely. There was a year where I experienced freq outages and had to rely on the UPS to keep me online till I could get the generator started and connected to house. Also the generator would occasionally spike to 62Hz, which is outside Cyberpower and APC's sensing AC power freq, so it would stop charging, supper annoying. After a year of full drains I had to replace the battery, which avg about 1/3 the cost of the unit itself. If infrequent power loss events the batteries usually last about 2 years, 3 years if they're AGM instead of sealed lead acid based.With this Goldenmate unit the battery runtime with an avg of 100w draw lasts for almost 3 hrs! The power loss alarm is a very pleasant beep that is about 3x lower decibel than other UPSs. I'm hoping the batteries used in this unit are on the higher end and will last near the 10 year warranty mark. Since this is Lithium and not AGM based batteries, it's about 3x lighter than the comparable AGM based unit.The cons:-No USB connection for external monitoring/feature option changes with rasp pi/linux like most UPS units at this price point have had for the past 15+ years.-No way to mute the alarm or adjust it to turn on when the battery is critically low.-Spacing issues on the 8 plug model, in order to connect a large voltage regulated plug (e.g. cellphone charger) I have to use a power strip, or partially cover another plug.-Power the unit on and off is a simple push, rather than a push and hold for 3+ seconds, which makes it possible to accidently power down if something accidently knocks into it.Overall this is an excellent consumer UPS, if it just had some of the industry standard features mentioned in the cons section, this would easily be a 5 star product.To those wondering how to dismantle this unit it's put together using tabs, so just use a shim to pop them then the cover slides off. Although the power loss alarm is quiet, it gets annoying to hear for 3hrs, so I had to get into the unit to disable it.3 Weeks later updated from 4 to 1 star review.I live off grid, when anything with an initial high AMP draw like a water pump or AC unit kicks on, everything attached to the goldenmate stays on except for my PC for some reason. My other UPS didn't have that issue. Also after about 2 weeks, I hear a noticeable buzzing sound, it's slightly loud than my PC fan. This usually indicates that either the voltage regulator is about to fail or is of subpar quality, either way it's super annoying. But the number 1 thing I need it to save is my PC during a power surge/outage event which it fails to provide.Since it's SO much cheaper than any other lithium based UPS, I'm going to exchange it, I'm hoping this is just a dud. I will update later.12/2/24 update - 1 star to 4 starsThere was no option to exchange the original unit I purchased from August, so I returned it for a full refund.They had a cheaper deal directly from them vs their Amazon store for Black Friday so I ordered 3 of them and and got an extra $9 off each for bulk discount. They were shipped much faster than when I originally ordered though Amazon in August 2024.The current model has had an improvement revision compared to the previous unit I bought in August; the newer unit's power button has been changed from standard on/off to a multi-function button. So now there's no accidental power switch bump power loss, it's a 3 sec hold delay. A single press temp mutes the buzzer during power loss and fault code errors. They also added a proprietary serial port for troubleshooting - Unfortunately, I can't find any documentation on consumer usage, seems to be a factory only service serial port.To add to the con list, they should implement extra app based controls to help prolong the life of the battery, or implement some hard coded limits like unit shutdown at 10% battery life.12/14/24 update - Zero post-sale support - 4 stars to 2 stars2 of the 3 units I ordered direct work perfectly, the 1 that doesn't, after ~2 weeks of great performance, it auto-shutoff with the error USO, which is an error referring to an overload. The directions to resolve this error are to turn off the unit, unplug all devices, turn unit on and plug in devices 1 by 1. I found out that mine is defective, I plugged in a monitor that was using 1watt, then a phone charger using 15w, and various other devices, they all singularly caused the USO error. I emailed them at [****], it's been 3 days now and no response, it's the weekend now, I'm going to give them till Monday...

Unit is lighter then expected, compared with other name brand I have owned feels and looks cheaply constructed. I also noted that there is no access to battery if you need a replacement. Upon reading manufacturer data on this one its not meant to be user replaceable. If the unit lasts 7-10 years then it may be acceptable but I prefer being able to exchange batteries out 2-3X to extend life of the system so I am disappointed this isn't an option and suspect that this unit it not likely to hold properly at higher loads after 3-4 years. Time will tell. In my experience weight with power supplies and UPS's quality units tend to be heavier. This unit feels quite light for its size. Also the power plug prongs also seem very thin for a UPS of this rating and power cord also seems to be only adequate not as thick as other UPS supplies I have used at work and home. If the manufacturer is skimping on things as simple as prongs where you hook up power cord and the gauge of the wire it makes me question if other corners were cut. For now it appears to do the job and has a good number of plugs to hook up. I will update review as I see how it performs with the power events we experience.

*** originally 1-star review ***Garbage, failed 1.5 months in randomly. There wasn't even an electrical blackout, it just failed randomly out of nowhere. Would've been better to just have hooked it up directly to the outlet. I run a critical computer system that needs reliable power and trusting this product was a mistake.I don't think it was the battery that failed because it's showing full charge. The inverter may be the issue. Going back to a more reliable brand.UPDATE: Okay, this was probably user error. I think my foot accidentally pressed the button for too long and manually shut it off. Be careful with where you place the unit and your feet. The unit worked perfectly fine and kept my computer running for 3 hours during a power outage.

I had an old AVR UPS with modified sine wave, which had its SLA batteries replaced at least once already. It was time to upgrade to a better backup and wanted to go LFP. Goldenmate seems one of the few purpose built ones available, and it's for the consumer. The low price is a bit concerning, but it appears this falls to the low price that LFP has come to and the very budget control this thing has. There's not really anything intelligent about it. It has a specific purpose to exist and it fulfills this purpose. Once I got it charged up, I did a rundown test for the load it will be carrying and it performed better than I expected. Since then, it's done its job as expected without issues. I wish I'd known about the "Pro" version, though, before I bought this one, so that I could connect it to my homelab server for monitoring. I will be buying another one when my other UPS batteries fail, and plan to get the "Pro" version then.Would definitely recommend.
