After getting frustrated by years of frequently replacing sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries in my CyberPower and APC uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), I finally decided to move up to a lithium battery powered solution. This price was fairly reasonable for a high-powered unit - maybe double the cost of an SLA UPS, but I won't have to replace the batteries four times over the same lifespan - which means it's actually going to be cheaper in the long run.This unit is big at 17 inches deep, 6 inches wide, and 12 inches high, but for that I get plenty of power to keep my gaming-capable PC and a couple monitors and peripherals running for quite some time during power outages. We had an extended outage while I was away from the house, and my data logging apps showed me that the PC stayed alive and awake for nearly an hour before reaching a critical battery level (5%) and hibernating.The model I bought - the 1500VA, 1000W version, has a USB port to connect it to my PC for low-battery shutdown. BUT: there's no separate monitoring app for this unit. And the instructions for hooking it up to the computer via USB to have it shut down the computer are basically nonexistent. However, I discovered that it works directly with Windows' own built-in battery monitoring. In fact, now that I have it connected, I get the little battery icon in the taskbar, just like on my notebook PC. (See the image.)So to get it working, here's what you do: just plug the USB cable into the Goldenmate port and into your PC. Then follow this advice from ChatGPT on how to do it (this checks out on my PC):On Windows 11, you can control the battery level at which your PC hibernates by adjusting the Critical battery level and Critical battery action settings in the advanced power options. Here’s how:Steps:1. Open Power Options- Press Win + R, type control, and hit Enter.- Go to: Hardware and Sound > Power Options.- Click Change plan settings next to your active plan.- Then select Change advanced power settings.2. Expand the Battery section- In the Power Options dialog, scroll down and expand Battery.3. Adjust Critical Battery Level- Expand Critical battery level.- Set the percentage (for both "On battery" and "Plugged in" if available).- This is the point at which Windows considers the battery critical.4. Set Critical Battery Action- Expand Critical battery action.- Change the action to Hibernate (instead of Shutdown or Do nothing).5. Optional: Low Battery Settings- Expand Low battery level (a higher threshold, e.g., 10–15%).- Expand Low battery action (usually set to notify).- This ensures you get a warning before the system hibernates.6. Apply and Save- Click Apply > OK, then close everything.

Love the Plug Layout!
I love the plug layout on this backup. I can now plug in the ridiculously large modem and router plugs without covering up available plugs. No more playing musical plugs when the power goes out. All of the plugs are on battery backup, no surge protection only, which is great.I live in the woods and we have frequent power blinks and outages during storms, so a backup with AVR and Pure Sine Wave are a must.It took maybe five minutes to setup the backup, very easy to do. The cord was plenty long to sit the backup on top of the desk and plug it into the wall next to it.The USB ports on the front are handy. They are 10w, so slow charging.The only reason I gave this a four star and not a five is there are no minutes remaining on the backup display, at least not that I've found. I would love to see that. You can see the battery icon on the PC, like on a laptop, BUT the first thing I do in a power outage is turn off the PC. My PC draws about a 100w and has always drained the battery quickly on my old backup, so the first thing I do in a power outage is turn off the PC. This leaves a light, the modem, and router on backup, so we're not sitting in the dark and can use mobile devices to access the Wi-Fi for weather reports and entertainment.The blue in the battery icon on the display does appear to change as the battery drains down, but doesn't give you the time left on battery.Only time will tell about the length of the battery life. I really hope it lasts ten years. I'm looking forward to not having to buy and replace batteries every couple of years.I'm very happy with my purchase so far. :)

Great product, Nice technology, Significant flaw - LIVE and NEUTRAL reversed on 2000VA model
Specs are great and I love the LiFEPO2 battery technology. The device works well as a UPS, and transparently switches to battery power when needed. I like the product alot.HOWEVER - I was doing some testing and discovered that the 2000VA (Not the 1500VA) version appears to have a significant issue. There are a nice number of outlets on the back, but the LIVE and NEUTRAL inputs are reversed. See enclosed picture from Klein Power Tester (a highly recommended product). I have six 2000VA units that show the problem and a single 1500VA that doesn't, so it looks like a manufacturing issue.I have other test equipment and have tested in several different configurations, and I am sure that LIVE AND NEUTRAL are reversed.This is an interesting issue and will not cause a problem for a purely resistive or inductive loads. Remember when all household outlets were 2 (non-keyed) pins. However, I can see situations with more specific devices and in particualr specific power transfer switches where this could cause a problem.Bottom line is that the pins are keyed and the assumption is that this identifies LIVE vs NEUTRALThe manufacturer may have a reson for all of this, although I couldn't come up with one.As these devices are VERY heavy, I didn't want to return them or just ignore. So, I built a short cross-over assembly that reswaps LIVE and NEUTRAL - This is my solution, I'm not recommending it for anyone else particularly anyone who doesn't have electrical engineering experience.

Beware, no Surge only outlets
Beware, no Surge only outlets. if you are used to a UPS that has Battery +Surge and Surge only outlets, you may need to rethink things.I was able to free up an outlet I could put a surge protector on for printers and other devices I don't want draining my UPS.Beyond that, I got 2 of these. An 800W and a 1200W.the 1200W is huge and uses a very heavy duty power cord.I've only had these connected for a couple of days now, so I can't speak to longevity or reliability yet.These are replacing another brand I have reviewed that just keep failing without warning.I'm hopeful the batteries in these are more reliable than the SLA types that most other brands use.After initial setup, I plugged in a good sized TV and a DVR to the 1200W unit and pulled power to the UPS. Both TV and DVR kept working and after a quick press of the mode switch, it silenced the alarm. About 30 minutes later both were still working, pulling about 120-140W of use. Battery still showed full as well. I then plugged it back in and so far so good.The 800W one is powering a loaded PC and monitor. Did a similar test and about 25-30 minutes later, it was still showing a full battery.I've found at this point it's best to do at least a monthly test of your UPS's, to ensure none have failed without showing any issues.I'll report back in a few months with an update, or sooner if I see any issues.

Seems to be working great, but comes with too short of cord
I have tested a few times by unplugging from electricity and everything maintained power immediately. So it has great response time to power outages.I like that you can see the amount of electric current draw of the devices connected to it.I like that it utilizes newer, safer stable lithium battery LiFePO which can go through up to 2,000 charge/ discharge cycles.These batteries are suppose to last many years more than traditional lead acid batteries utilized in consumer UPS’es.This type of Lithium battery is relatively new technology for consumer UPS.The main concerns I have were:1) Ships with a 3 ft cord which is too short. I had to purchase a 6 ft cord. It is non-standard cord, so it took awhile to find. My main reason for docking one star.2) Brand is new to me. Was somewhat concerned how well the company would provide warranty support if anything goes wrong. I did purchase an extended warranty.Hopefully this will last as long as 3 standard lead acid UPS. Time will tell.It is more expensive in up front costs.If it last as long a some say, I will be purchasing this as a replacement many years to come.

50lbs, has a whine when operating, interferes with some wireless( i havnt noticed)
This thing weighs like 50 pounds. Fed ex wont leave it at your door, gotta be home to sign for it. They classify itvas hazardous materials cause of the battery. Comes with very short 2ft cord, and usb connection to communicate to nas drive. The lcd screen showing how much power is going through it only stays lit for 20 seconds, then you gotta press button again. Kinda dumb. Battery charge indicater shows a battery with lines on it instead of a percentage indicator or voltage left or watt hours remaining indicator. It whines, states it may interfere with wireless signals. But its not so loud it overrides my natural ringing in the ears from being 53:-) seems to draw about 100 watt more than its powering. Ive got it to backup my gaming rig. 9950x3d and rtx5090. Draws about 500 watt to 700 while gaming. 140 idle. So, should give me plenty of time to turn my breaker back on or shut things down during an outage.

These are a big beast of a unit. Definitely better made than the APC units. Only time will tell how long it lasts. But having been a long time APC user, I'll be replacing all the them with these going forward

Attractive unit with expected long battery life.
Easy to set up. Included instructions not for the old of eyes, use your phone to Zoom in on the buttons, they were not what I expected. Wider than a similarly capable sealed lead-acid battery backup by a fair margin, about the same height. I just received this item recently, so I can't speak to the longevity yet, but I am hopeful that it will last much further into the projected 10-year battery life as I'm tired of changing batteries (expensive batteries, no less).

A solid UPS at first use. Time will tell if it remains a good buy.
The UPS arrived next day, in excellent shape. It is an attractive, simple-looking UPS. The display is basic. I powered it overnight, then tested it under load by pulling power and observing the unit's sound, transfer speed and temperature. The unit was quiet, even with the fan running. The load devices didn't blink when the power was pulled, indicating a less than 1 cycle latency (< 16 ms). The load is approximately 25% of rating, and the battery state-of-charge remained between 81 and 100% for the 5 minute period that I had the power pulled. When I re-plugged power, there was no visible effect on the load devices. The unit's case temperature did not change perceptibly while power was pulled. I will update the rating in 6 months.

Will handle the surge draw of the compressor in my wine fridge. Kept it powered for a few hours of cycling on and off. For more capacity there are larger units available.

More expensive than previous versions but you get what you pay for. Very happy so far.
Wow !!! This is the 4th item that I have purchased in the GOLDENMATE UPS line. It completely and totally works as expected. I always test when I get them to make sure they perform the UPS function well before putting them into service including running them down to see what the run time is for my application. Everything worked as expected and according to the manufacturer specs. Having said all of that I WAS surprised how much bigger and heavier this unit was from the previous versions that I have purchased. The specifications do not lie so just be aware if you have purchased an earlier version. I have been watching this brand since they began appearing on Amazon and I have been very impressed with the progress that they have made. AVR is very important, usable computer interface very important, improved switch over speeds. And if you need it the most expensive version now operates online which means there is no switch over at all as your load ALWAYS runs from the battery and only used the mains for keeping the battery charged. Out of my previous three purchases had a questionable switch over time especially when the voltage dropped but didn't completely lose power. AVR will help make this more reliable. So I use that one for less sensitive loads.

It has passed all of my initial tests so far with flying colors...
...the only real question moving forward is longevity. If it ever fails me prematurely, you better bet I'll be back to update this! However, if it lasts as long as it says on the tin, it will best my APC UPS' on cost (up-front + replacement batteries) in just 4 years and cost 1/3 as much to maintain over a decade, while giving me 2.5-3x the runtime.I do wish it showed more stats on the display, like number of events since last power-on, RUNTIME REMAINING, etc. I mean, seeing the difference between input and output wattage is "nifty" (it only differs when charging batteries after an outage), but also entirely *useless* to the end user. That space would have been better used for runtime remaining at current consumption.However, it does report all stats to upsd (linux) just fine; so the information is available to powerusers and to your OS if you plug in the USB data cable.

The Best UPS I've Ever Owned
I bought the GoldenMate LifePO4 UPS with the highest capacity available, which is 460 Wh (Watt-Hours), and the highest output watts, which is 1600 watts. So far, it seems to be working perfectly, and I like it a lot. I also like that they added USB-C & USB-A power output ports. And I like that this unit has no odor.I did a test where I plugged in a countertop microwave oven. Only this device was plugged into the UPS. When running, the oven draws approximately 1,450 to 1,480 watts. This UPS was able to power the microwave oven without tripping the UPS overload protection.To find out the approximate runtime in hours, simply do divide the numbers: Battery Wh ÷ Device Watts Drawn = Estimated Runtime (hours). For example, if I only had my Internet modem & separate router plugged in, and if these 2 devices combined drew 20 watts total, that would equal approx. 23 hours. However, due to other factors*, the safe thing to do is to make the final answer 80% of that. This means about 18.4 hours of battery power keeping the modem & router alive with this big UPS.Someone posted a review saying they are unhappy there is only a 3-ft power cord and that there are safety issues using an extension cord. If one buys a single-plug heavy duty 16AWG extension cord rated for high wattage, there is no safety concern at all. They also expressed concern regarding replacing the batteries in the future. GoldenMate claims a 10-year life. If the longevity estimate is accurate, or even just close to accurate, come that time, I'm hoping the perfection of solid state batteries is finished and that they will be the norm, and I'd be happy at that time to buy a whole new UPS.*Possible Factors as to why to derate the estimated runtime:Inverter inefficiency (AC/DC conversion losses)Heat lossesBattery management overheadAge and condition of the batterySome UPSs cut off power before fully draining the battery (to protect the battery)

Works great with windows PC and peripherals
Near flawless solution for my gaming PC. I live in an area with many power disruptions (above ground wires, lots of trees and storms). I have a great surge protector, but I wanted something that will allow me to gently power down my PC. I purchased this during prime days for a few bucks under normal MSRP and even though it was a lot of money, I am glad I bought it. Reasons: Size, weight, features, number of outlets, power level, and reliability.It is powering a gaming PC (4090 1000w max PSU) and 2 gaming monitors as well as a handful of peripherals (speakers, stream deck, microphone, desk lamp). In my initial "pull it out of the wall and see how long it lasts" I got more than 30 minutes brfore it was drained. I will try again after making settings in PC to shut itself down.Cons: 1) The included cord is very short and due to proprietary nature of the plug you don't have any other options. I had to move around some furniture and rearrange to position this near enough to outlet and still out of the way. Not a problem in a office environment, but for my home (bedroom) office, it was a challenge. I wish they included longer compatible and safe options. I see some cords with the same plug type, but I don't want to risk fire/etc. from incompatible cord.2) software. Windows 11 is not a problem. My desktop PC recognizes this as a "battery" and you can use the same advanced power settings as on a laptop to trigger a graceful shutdown at a particular level. Still, I wish it had an application like some of the competitors with some monitoring, stats, turning off power failure alarm, etc. instead of getting on my knees to see the little display. So, it works, but I suspect this would not be easy or possible to configure for my NAS or other non-windows stuff.If you are looking for a UPS and surge with good clean power for your PC and monitors, this is a great option.

Currently the best deal-- No waste, solid- Basic computer grade 10yr LiFePO4 UPS. Switches fast enough to keep my PC at 972w under dirty power conditions. Old APC couldn't do that. Easy to read and understand display- 90sec blanking, basic usb to Windows PC built in functions- no provided software. Beeps on 3s of battery transition, has muting function. Bright Green Power LED. Silent on A/C, some fan noise under full battery load but an acceptable reminder the power is off.
